It's a commonly depicted scenario. Your exceptional execution skills aside, what I like about your take that sets it apart from similar depictions is where we usually see a globe of protection, here, you allow the fire itself to define the boundaries of the magical barrier. Great interpretation! Also, there is something more going on than just the generic face off; there's a story. We have steps leading up as well as a passage way descending further into the depths, along with the subtle, skeletal remains of a previously failed attempt to safely venture through.
Current events, past events, this location has seen a history of action which gives the entire portrayal depth and dynamics. Creativity in all aspects shows intelligence behind the art. I love it!
This is amazing, the lights, the contrast of cold and warm color... details like the skeleton almost fading in the fog and shadow of the cave like if it tells: "that was the last person who tried to destroy this dragon!" The magic vs fire is hypnotizing my sensitive eyes. hahaha great piece!
"Confidence is an illusionary trait. It is an offspring of something else. That something is called well-being. Only those who have well-being can give well-being. Only those who have well-being can care about others. When one is not sufficiently in a state of well-being, one cannot care and does not care. This is why apathy exists. When one is nursed back to a state of well-being by oneself or others, one can care again. They regain their empathy." - Dark Philosophy (Enoch Tan)
